Tickets are available for Festival of Trees

Senior breakfast, gala and family days also part of annual event

PORT ANGELES — Teddy Bear Teas are sold out, but tickets for other Festival of Trees events today through Sunday were still available as of Thursday.

The festival, a fundraiser by the Olympic Medical Center Foundation, features a collection of 45 elaborately decorated trees and wreaths. Raffle tickets can be purchased to win a 6-foot decorated tree.

All events are at the Vern Burton Community Center, 308 E. Fourth St., Port Angeles. Proceeds benefit Olympic Medical Center.

Local entertainment groups are to perform on the stage throughout the weekend.

Opening ceremonies for the Olympic Medical Center Foundation’s 33rd Festival of Trees were on Wednesday. Hosted by the Jamestown S’Klallam Tribe with vocal music provided by Ghostlight and members of the Port Angeles High School Choir, it also included the lighting of large outdoor decorations and trees and private tree viewing.

Festival of Trees events

• Senior Breakfast — 8:30 a.m. to 10 a.m. today. Presented by Discovery Memory Care, this breakfast is served for all ages, entertainment and tree viewing. $16.

• Festival of Trees Gala — 5 p.m. Saturday. Presented by First Fed, this is a buffet dinner, tree auction and silent auction. $105.

• Teddy Bear Tea — 9 a.m. and 11 a.m. Saturday. These are sold out.

• Family Days — 1:30 p.m. to 6 p.m. Saturday and 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Sunday. Presented by The Lodge at Sherwood Village, Sherwood Assisted Living and Fifth Avenue Retirement Center, this event sees attendees get a chance to view the trees, purchase raffle tickets, take photos with Santa and hear entertainment. $7; children 12 and younger free.
