SEQUIM — Soroptimist International of Sequim, celebrating 70 years of service, is seeking artists and photographers who wish to have an original creation selected as the featured artwork for the 20th annual Gala Garden Show, which takes place March 17-18 next year.
The entry deadline is July 15.
Each year, an original work, donated by a local artist or photographer, is chosen to be the Gala Garden Show logo.
The logo is featured on marketing and publicity materials throughout the year. The artwork also is the centerpiece of a major raffle held the last day of the show.
The selected artwork will be prominently displayed at the 2018 Gala Garden Show and at other public events earlier in the year. The artist or photographer will be offered a free vendor booth at the 2018 show. More than 2,000 people attended this event in 2016 and in 2017.
Proceeds from the annual Gala Garden Show help fund many Sequim Soroptimist projects that benefit women and girls in local communities.
Criteria for artwork submissions:
• Subject must be garden-related.
• Art forms eligible: computer/digital art, drawings/paintings (all mediums), photography and visual/graphic design images.
• Size of artwork/image (without matting or framing) must be no smaller than 8 inches by 10 inches and no larger than 17 inches by 24 inches.
