CHIMACUM — Dental care for children and adults without insurance or with Apple Health (Medicaid) coverage is available this week and next week at the Smilemobile, the mobile clinic at the Tri-Area Community Center, 10 W. Valley Road.
Patients are encouraged to schedule appointments by phoning 888-286-9105. Babies and toddlers on up to teenagers and adults — including pregnant and postpartum women — are welcome to receive dental examinations and oral health education, while sealants, temporary fillings and simple extractions can be done by Drs. LaVonne Hammelman and Anne Sabatino.
The Smilemobile will be at the community center from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Tuesday and Wednesday and from 8:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. Thursday. Next week, the hours will be 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. Monday, 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. June 22 and 23, and 9 a.m. to noon June 24.
Due to COVID-19, the Smilemobile does not provide cleanings or other aerosol-producing procedures.
The Arcora Foundation, in partnership with Seattle Children’s Hospital, funds the Smilemobile across Washington state.
