Sequim Soroptimists host seminar about end-of-life wishes

SEQUIM — Concerned about growing older, managing future legal and medical/life care issues, and what actions and decisions you, your family and/or caregivers should be taking now?

The Sequim Soroptimists aim to address these topics at their upcoming “Tea with SHE” presentation focused on end-of-life planning.

This free seminar is set from noon to 1:30 p.m. Tuesday at Trinity United Methodist Church, 100 S. Blake Ave., Sequim.

Light refreshments will be served, and reservations are not required.

Tea with SHE (Soroptimists Helping and Empowering) is a new series of seminars targeted primarily at mature and older women in the Sequim area.

However, the seminars are open to both men and women of all ages.

Seminar speakers

Speakers for the upcoming seminar are Teresa Neudorfer, a local elder law attorney, and Janet Popelka, a social worker experienced in hospice and long-term care issues.

They will discuss end-of-life planning topics, including:

• Durable power of attorney.

• Advance directives.

• Quality and dignified end-of-life care.

Question-and-answer

A short question-and-answer session will follow the presentations, and informational handouts addressing these topics will be provided to attendees.
