Sequim High robotics team sets annual luau

Live and silent auction planned for Saturday

SEQUIM — The Sequim High School Robotics Team will host the group’s fifth annual Luau & Auction, dubbed “Aloha Cruisin’,” from 6 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. Saturday.

The live and silent auction will be at the Sequim High School cafeteria, 601 N. Sequim Ave. Doors will open at 5:30 p.m.

Tickets are $15 prior to the event (available at the SHS office), $20 at the door and $60 for a table of five.

Funds raised help pay for the expenses associated with FIRST Robotics Competitions (FRC), including but not limited to, component parts and materials, travel and event registrations.

Donations are accepted and are tax-deductible.

The Sequim robotics team members design and build a new robot each year to meet the unique FRC game challenges, and have won awards such as Innovation in Control, Excellence in Engineering, Creativity and Industrial Design.

Program representatives estimate annual team costs can come close to $20,000.

For more information about the event, contact Stu Marcy at stumarcy@sequimschools.org.
