Lori Lyn, director of marketing and acquisitions editor for Trifecta, is the guest presenter at the Olympic Peninsula Authors’ seminar series opener today.

SEQUIM — Olympic Peninsula Authors is beginning a free two-part seminar series for writers looking to publish books.

The first is scheduled for 6 to 7:30 tonight.

It will be in the Carver Room at the Port Angeles Library, 2210 S. Peabody St.

The seminar will feature a presentation by Lori Lyn, director of marketing and acquisitions editor for Trifecta Publishing House. Trifecta is a small publisher and member of the Independent Book Publishing Association.

Lyn is one of the publishing house founders and an author. She will speak about the publishing side of the business, including the key components a writer needs to consider, the definition of branding, a realistic time frame from draft to e-book and print, and what costs to expect. There will be time for questions and discussion.

Copies of books published by Trifecta will be available for purchase following the presentation. Trifecta is open now for submissions in all genres of fiction. For submission guidelines, see trifecta publishinghouse.com.

The second seminar in the series will be from 6 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 19, at the Sequim Library at 630 N. Sequim Ave.

It will feature self-publishing do’s and don’ts.
