PORT TOWNSEND — The Veterans, Law Enforcement, First Responders and Psychedelics Symposium is set for 5:30 p.m. Thursday.
The symposium and panel discussion is in the American Legion’s Marvin G. Shields Memorial Post #26, 209 Monroe St.
The symposium aims to offer perspectives on the healing potential of psychedelic medicine for veterans, law enforcement officers and first responders.
Speakers include Betty Frizzell, Zach Skiles, Lauren Feringa and Juan-Carlos Foust.
The speakers will address such topics as alternative treatments for processing traumatic experiences, suicide prevention, alliance building amongst public servants, community healing options and harm reduction.
The symposium is co-sponsored by the Port Townsend Psychedelic Society, the Hippie and a Veteran Foundation and the Responsible Entheogen Access and Community Healing Coalition.
The suggested donation is $5-20, but no one will be turned away for lack of funds.
