PHOTO: Sequim Irrigation Festival’ 2019 float unveiled

From left, Sequim Irrigation Festival princess Brianna Cowan, princess Shelby Wells and queen Emily Silva get their first look at the festival’s float at an unveiling ceremony just prior to the annual Kick Off Dinner and Auction on Saturday at 7 Cedars Casino in Blyn.

Princess Kjirstin Foresman was traveling with the Sequim High School band and was unable to attend the ceremony.

To promote the 124th Sequim Irrigation Festival’s theme of “There’s No Place Like Home,” the float creators constructed a “Wizard of Oz”-themed production that designer Guy Horton said is the tallest and “most animated” Sequim float yet.

The two-weekend festival gets started with Crazy Callen Weekend from May 3-5 and continues with the Grand Finale Weekend from May 9-12. See www.irrigationfestival.com for more information.
