Peninsula authors to hold book reading, signing this Monday

PORT ANGELES — Olympic Peninsula Authors on Monday will offer humor, adventure, inspiration, romance and murder.

Seven authors from Port Angeles or Sequim will read from their work from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. in the Carver Room of the Port Angeles Library, 2210 S. Peabody St.

“It is the mission of the Olympic Peninsula Authors group to promote awareness of the many talented authors working here on the [North Olympic] Peninsula,” said event organizer Linda B. Myers.

Heidi Hansen, co-organizer, added that the authors will “do short readings to give listeners a flavor of their work and will sign and sell copies. People who come to the event can feel free to ask them questions about writing as a profession.”

Featured authors include the following:

• Gene G. Bradbury, Sequim, will offer a wide selection of picture books and children’s literature as well as poetry for adults.

• Michael Bunnell, Sequim, has written everything from news articles to television scripts. He will present two novels, both humorous historical fiction.

• Howard Chadwick, Sequim, is an outdoorsman and artist who writes narrative poetry as therapy for his readers and himself. He will sell two books of collected works.

• Hansen, a retired Realtor from Sequim, will offer a new collection of short stories.

• Myers, Port Angeles, writes general fiction and articles for the Sequim Gazette. She will offer her series of mysteries.

• Jane Nichols, Sequim, writes award-winning contemporary romance and romantic suspense. She will offer three books at the event.

• Cynthia Webster, Port Angeles, offers an audio version of her story for middle-grade children.

The reading, signing and selling event will include a book raffle and light refreshments.
