In addition to the Port Angeles Heritage Weekend and the huffing and puffing of the Northwest Steam Society’s 27 small steam boats, there’s a variety of activities — from art walks to several concerts– on tap this weekend.

Forks festival
The annual Forks Family Festival is Saturday and Sunday in Tillicum Park.
For kids and adults, the activities include soccer and softball; hula hoop contest; music by the Forks Community Orchestra; mini-puppet show; bubble gum blowing contest; bubble creations; kids’ games; moonwalk — and lots of carnival food, from elephant ears to curly fries to Indian tacos to pizza and corndogs.
PA art Saturday
August’s “Second Saturday” art activities in Port Angeles include textiles, paintings, sculpting and “wearable art” — and a guided walking tour of downtown Art on the Town street sculpture.
And it’s all free, sponsored by the Port Angeles Downtown Association.
From noon to 4 p.m., internationally known artist Maureen Hope Wall will do an outdoor sculpting demonstration.
She will be “cutting stone” in front of her business, Revival Artisan, which is in the big, yellow former International Order of Odd Fellows’ building at 316 W. First St., at the west end of the downtown area.
On the sidewalk beside Wall, in an art tent in front of the old Odd Fellows building, will be Rebecca Refuse of Port Townsend showing “wearable art.”
In addition to Revival Artisan (Wall creates and sells individual copies of fine-art sculptures for homes and restores historical art pieces), the old Odd Fellows’ building is also home to Wall’s new Untitled Space art gallery.
From 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. on Saturday, the gallery will begin an exhibit of “marine views and seascapes” — paintings and sculpture by local and regional artists.
Their works were picked to coincide with Heritage Weekend and Second Saturday.
Included will be a historic watercolor, circa 1930, by Anna Belle Kidd Stone of sailing ships in Lake Washington, and a watercolor of the Tacoma waterfront, circa 1945, by William Arthur Phillips.
Other artists whose work will be featured Saturday in the gallery include Refuse, Duncan Yves McKiernan, Peach McKiernan and T. Campbell.

* 11 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.– “Fabric Embellishment” demonstration at Udjat Beads, 129 E. First St.
* 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. — Acrylic painting demonstration with Ed Morales in front of the Colour Palette, 118 W. First St.
* 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. — Demonstration by resident artist Peggy Wesley at Wesley’s Fine Arts, 106 N. Laurel St.
* Noon to 1 p.m. — Featured artist Judy de Chantal at the Clallam Art Gallery inside The Landing mall, 115 E. Railroad Ave. Her work will be displayed all day.
* 1 p.m. to 2 p.m. — Art on the Town tour of downtown sculptures. Meet by 12:55 p.m. in the atrium of The Landing mall.

* 2 p.m. to 3 p.m. — Jeanne Couillard-Jones will give a textile weaving demonstration at Fiber Arts Studio, 124 E. Front St.
