OTA sets auditions for ‘Starting Here Starting Now’ musical revue

SEQUIM — Auditions for “Starting Here Starting Now,” Olympic Theatre Arts’ second-stage musical, are planned in January.

Auditions will be from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 7, and from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. Monday, Jan. 9, at Olympic Theatre Arts Center, 414 N. Sequim Ave. Director Greg Scherer is looking for one male and two female performers, ages 20 to 50, who are vocally proficient for the revue.

“These are songs of discovery, describing the various stages and nuances of love,” Scherer said about the revue.

Scherer is looking to make the piece a “show-biz” type of entertainment with dancing and multi-media effects to accompany the singers.

Singers are asked to come prepared to sing a song or songs of choice. A piano accompanist will be available to play sheet music if provided; an instrumental track on CD or mp3 may also be used. A cast recording of the show is available at the OTA business office for listening prior to auditions.

The production will run for two weekends, opening March 16 and running through March 25. Rehearsals will begin after the first of the year, at times to be established by the cast.

For more information or to schedule an alternate audition date or time, call the OTA business office at 360-683-7326. The office is open from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. Mondays through Fridays.
