SEQUIM — Ghosts, goblins and ghouls? Must be that time of year again.
Olympic Theatre Arts will usher in the scary Halloween season with the “The Haunting House,” a two-day interactive theatrical event set for 3 p.m. Saturday and Sunday at the OTA center, 414 N. Sequim Ave.
Admission will be $5 at the door. Proceeds will benefit the OTA’s Children’s Theatre program.
Children’s Theatre acting students from the “Theatrical Spectres” class at OTA will present a series of spooky vignettes based on such classics as Edgar Allan Poe and his raven, Jacob Marley’s visit to Ebenezer Scrooge, the witch scene from “Macbeth” and “The Phantom of the Opera.”
Patrons, escorted in small groups by “ghost hosts,” will be led through the Olympic Theatre Arts building into various small theater settings where the vignettes are performed.
Costumed actors will be wearing ghoulish makeup designed and applied by the students in a stage makeup class.
“It’s going to be a frightful bunch of little thespians,” OTA Executive Director Carol Willis said.
At the conclusion of the tour, guests will be able to participate in interactive games and trick-or-treating.
