Operation Christmas Child will accept donations beginning Monday in Clallam and Jefferson counties.
Donations such as toys, school supplies, hygiene items and letters of encouragement packaged in a shoebox will be accepted at locations in Forks, Port Angeles, Sequim and Port Townsend from Monday to Monday, Nov. 21.
The drop-off locations and hours are:
• Forks — First Baptist Church of Forks, 651 S. Forks Ave. — 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Monday through Friday, 3:30 p.m. to 5:30 p.m. Wednesday, 4:30 p.m. to 7 p.m. Friday, 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. Saturday, 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. Sunday and from 9 a.m. to noon Monday, Nov. 21.
• Sequim — Eastern Hills Community Church, 91 Savannah Lane — 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. Monday; 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. Tuesday, Wednesday, F12.
• Port Angeles — Harbor of Hope, 1018 W. 16th St. — 3 p.m. to 5 p.m. Monday, Wednesday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday; 3 p.m. to 6 p.m. Tuesday and Thursday; and 10 a.m. to noon Monday, Nov. 21.
• Port Townsend: San Juan Baptist Church, 1704 Discovery Road; 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. Monday, Tuesday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday; 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. Wednesday; 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. and 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. Thursday; and 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. Monday, Nov. 21.
The shoebox gifts are delivered to children affected by war, disease, disaster, poverty and famine.
The children who receive these boxes are selected by local volunteers from various evangelical denominations in partnership with a National Leadership Team from Samaritan’s Purse.
Operation Christmas Child is a project of Samaritan’s Purse, an international Christian relief and evangelism organization headed by Franklin Graham.
Since 1993, the operation has collected and delivered more than 198 million gift-filled shoeboxes to children in more than 160 countries and territories.
