PORT ANGELES — Participating downtown businesses will donate a portion of sales to arts organizations during the Open Your Heart to Art promotion today.
Late-night shopping and dining — and other special events — are planned from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m.
Donations will go to the Juan de Fuca Festival of the Arts, Port Angeles Fine Arts Center, Port Angeles Symphony and Port Angeles Community Players.
Customers can shop at Stage Right Vintage Outfitters, Cabled Fiber & Yarn, Brocante, NW Fudge and Confections, Port Book and News, and Moxie, among others.
Moss will have special hours between 2 p.m. and 6 p.m. and then a special jewelry show from 7 p.m. to 10 p.m.
Visitors downtown also can dine out for the cause at Michael’s Seafood & Steakhouse, Bella Italia, Barhop Brewing, New Moon Craft Tavern and Next Door Gastropub, where all sales from a designated tap will go toward supporting local arts.
Other arts-related events are happening downtown tonight, including performances by The World’s Finest at the Metta Room at 8:30 p.m. and The Crocs at the New Moon Craft Tavern at 8 p.m.
The Heatherton Gallery will host an opening night artist reception for its February gallery show showcasing artists Janet Piccola, Sky Heatherton and Janet Beers with light refreshments and live music offered between 5 p.m. and 7 p.m.
Open Your Heart to Art is an inaugural event produced by the promotions committee of the Port Angeles Downtown Association.
