Olympic Peninsula Men’s Chorus invites community to get ‘Happy Together’

SEQUIM — The Olympic Peninsula Men’s Chorus will present “Happy Together,” a pair of shows set for Saturday in the Sequim High School auditorium.

Shows include a 2 p.m. matinee and 7 p.m. evening show at the school at 601 N. Sequim Ave.

Pre-show tickets are $12. Tickets at the door are $15. Tickets are available at Olympic Theatre Arts, 414 N. Sequim Ave., Sequim; Port Book and News, 104 E. First St., Port Angeles; or by calling 360-681-7761 or 360-565-6845.

A portion of the proceeds will be donated to the Sequim High School choir to support their travel to Carnegie Hall in 2018.

The performances will be dedicated to Byron Nelson, former Sequim police chief (1996-2002), chorus member and past chorus president, who died recently.

In addition to the men’s chorus, the quartet “No Batteries Required” will perform and the special guest for the shows will be the Sequim High choir under the direction of John Lorentzen.

“Happy Together” performances are hosted by Benjamin Komar and Emma Easton, local actors with experience in many area productions. The two were recently married during a performance of Shakespeare’s “Much Ado About Nothing.”

Komar will be presenting selections from his personal diary, which will be coordinated with songs such as “When I Fall in Love,” “Hooked on a Feeling,” “Barbara Ann” and “Happy Together.”
