SEQUIM — Olympic Theatre Arts will conduct general auditions Saturday.
Auditions will be at 3 p.m. at the theater at 414 N. Sequim Ave.
Auditions will be for plays performed in its upcoming 2017-18 season of live theater.
Actors are asked for a monologue to read from those prepared by the directors and may present a song of choice if interested in musical parts.
OTA will provide an accompanist to play sheet music for musical audition candidates, and a CD player will be available to play instrumentals for songs.
The directors also may ask candidates to read scene parts with other actors during the auditions.
Candidates can arrive anytime between 2:30 p.m. and 4:30 p.m. to sign in and audition.
Directors will begin at 3 p.m. with short self-introductions and casting visions. Audition candidates will then perform in order of sign-up.
“We have learned that it is important to give our community of actors as much notice as possible about the upcoming season so that they are able to identify plays of interest and plan their year accordingly,” OTA Executive Director Carol Willis said.
“This does not take the place of the regular auditions that will be held for each show a few months before performance dates. It just gives our directors a look at some actors that they may not know and the actors some information about each of the plays.”
