NOLS book discussion groups online for October

PORT ANGELES — The North Olympic Library System will continue its book discussion groups online throughout October.

Participants must register at www.nols.org to receive the links to the free Zoom meetings.

• The Second Saturday Book Discussion Group will meet at 3 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 9, to discuss “Hunger” by Roxane Gay.

Paperback copies are available for pickup at the Sequim Library.

The group will discuss “So You Want to Talk About Race” by Ijeoma Oluo in November.

• The Second Tuesday Book Discussion Group will meet at 11 a.m. Tuesday, Oct. 12, to discuss “The Dutch House” by Ann Patchett.

Paperback copies are available for pickup at the Port Angeles Library.

In November, the group will discuss “The Girl with the Louding Voice” by Abi Daré.

• The Novel Conversations Book Discussion Group is set to meet at 4 p.m. Wednesday, Oct 27, to talk about “The Nickel Boys” by Colson Whitehead.

Paperback copies are available for pickup at the Sequim Library.

The group plans to discuss “The Lost City of the Monkey God: A True Story” by Douglas Preston in November.

• The Wednesday Evening Book Discussion Group will meet at 6:30 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 27, to discuss “America: The Farewell Tour” by Chris Hedges.

Paperback copies are available for pickup at the Port Angeles Library.

Its November selection is “The Painter” by Peter Heller.

In November, the Novel Conversations and Wednesday Evening groups will meet a week earlier than usual due to the Thanksgiving holiday.
