New Year’s Eve activities are proliferating across the North Olympic Peninsula.
Here’s a look at some of the options offered in addition to the First Night celebration of Port Townsend’s arts community.

Port Townsend/Jefferson County
■ The Port Townsend Marine Science Center plans a cruise at
1 p.m. Monday to see the early winter bird migration.
The cruise will depart from Port Townsend’s Point Hudson Marina and, if the weather is good, go to the Protection Island National Wildlife Refuge at the mouth of Discovery Bay. Otherwise, it will head south toward Port Ludlow to remain in protected waters.
The cruise may also include a stop at the Kilisut Harbor-Mystery Bay area between Marrowstone and Indian islands.
This Puget Sound Express voyage will be aboard an enclosed, heated motor-yacht.
Refreshments will be available and a naturalist will be on board to provide commentary.
Tickets are $55 per person, or $50 for members of the marine science center, of the Burke Museum in Seattle or of the Audubon Society or Washington Ornithological Society.
Proceeds go toward marine science center programs.

■ Mick and Barry play folk, country and classic rock from 6 p.m. until 10 p.m. at the Ajax Café, 21 Water St. in Port Hadlock.

Port Angeles
■ The new Eagles lodge, 2943 E. Myrtle St., has Haywire, the country and rock ‘n’ roll band featuring Denny Secord, at 7 p.m.
Tickets are $35 per person or $60 per couple including appetizers, party favors, champagne and dessert at midnight.

■ Salsa in PA, an organization open to all dancers and potential dancers, invites everyone to its New Year’s Eve party at Aglazing Art Studio, 207 W. First St.
Salsa dance lessons, a lavish dinner and party favors will be provided; guests are encouraged to bring their own beverages for the frolic from 7:30 p.m. until 1 a.m.
The cover charge is $8, and party-goers must RSVP by joining the Salsa in PA group — which will also host weekly salsa classes in 2013 — at www.Facebook.com/SalsainPA.
