PORT ANGELES — The North Olympic Library System now has nature backpacks designed for toddlers and pre-schoolers available for checkout.
Each backpack contains a magnifying lens, binoculars, bug net, collection box, cards with nature questions, tips for caregivers and two children’s books.
“Spending time in nature is important for children’s development,” said Clair Dunlap, youth services librarian, in press release.
