Native plant sale goes online

PORT HADLOCK — The Jefferson County Conservation District is accepting orders for native plants through Friday, Jan. 28.

This year’s sale will will not have any in-person sales, all orders must be made online and paid for by credit card.

Visit the district’s website, www.jeffersoncd.org, to order plants.

Customers who cannot order online or pay by credit card may call the office at 360-385-4105 to arrange an accommodation.

To assist customers with plant selection, the district will present an online workshop on planning a native landscape from 4 p.m. to 5:30 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 14, and again from 6:30 p.m. to 8 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 12.

Joe Holtrop, the district’s manager, will discuss basic site analysis, an overview of common native trees and shrubs, plant selection, bare-root plant care, planting and maintenance.

Attendees should register by email at info@jeffersoncd.org; a recording of the workshop will be available for people who are unable to attend.
