SEQUIM — The WSU Clallam County Master Gardeners invite the community to the group’s demonstration garden for a festival Saturday.
The gardeners will host their free festival from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Woodcock Demonstration Garden, 2711 Woodcock Road.
At 11 a.m. will be a presentation on composting. Attendees will be shown around the demonstration area by master composters to learn about different techniques to use at home.
A second presentation at 1 p.m. will deal with fall and winter gardening in the Pacific Northwest.
A plant clinic also will take place during the garden festival.
Plant clinics are a free resource to the public for help in answering gardening questions and solving insect and plant disease problems in home gardens.
In addition to the special presentations and plant clinic, Master Gardeners will be on hand to share their experiences and expertise on a variety of topics including planting a winter vegetable garden, growing berries, propagating perennials and using natives in the landscape.
Picnic tables and an open lawn area will be available for those who choose to bring a picnic lunch.
