Lecture to focus on gardeners new to North Olympic Peninsula

Peninsula Daily News

PORT ANGELES — Margery Whites, a Clallam County master gardener, will present a workshop on gardening on the Olympic Peninsula for newcomers to the area at 10:30 a.m. Saturday.

Whites’ lecture, part of the Digging Deeper webinar series on Zoom, is oriented to people who may not be new to gardening, but may be new to the gardening and landscaping challenges of the North Olympic Peninsula.

Whites will discuss choosing plants appropriate for your site’s microclimate; basic landscape planning; solving problems related to the wet winters and dry summers; and how to locate tools and resources for more information.

A link to the Zoom meeting is available at tinyurl.com/PDN-MasterGarden Resources.

To listen only, call 253-215-8782, then enter meeting ID 947 0105 8398 and passcode 390942.

This new series of online workshops stands in for Saturday lectures at Woodcock Demonstration Garden until COVID-19 concerns ease.
