KONP Home Show begins two-day run today

PORT ANGELES — Exhibitors will have more than 180 booths at the 27th KONP Home Show this weekend in Port Angeles.

Admission is free.

The booths are geared toward home improvement projects like building, remodeling, decorating and lifestyle ideas. New products and services are exhibited.

‘Come a long way’

“We’ve come a long way from the humble beginnings in the Vern Burton gymnasium with leaky tents and just a handful of booths and exhibitors,” KONP general manager Todd Ortloff wrote in a special Home Show publication.

“Now we’re sporting three gymnasium levels full of displays and exhibits.

“We expect thousands of people to come through during the two days of the show.”

Ortloff said this year’s Home Show will offer a wider variety of new exhibits along with many returning vendors.

There are 84 spaces for booths in the east gym at the high school.

The floor of the Roughrider gym will house 46 booths, with an additional 18 on the upper mezzanine levels and even more booths in the concessions area and outside the building.

Many of the vendors will raffle prizes.

Cash giveaway

The top prize at the Home Show is a $25,000 cash giveaway for a lucky roll of the dice in the concessions area.

Clallam County Public Utility District is the name sponsor of the Home Show.

The two-day event is staged at Port Angeles High School’s gymnasiums at 304 E. Park Ave.

It runs from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Saturday and from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Sunday.
