Kiwanis Car Show revs up this Saturday in Port Townsend

Funds from the show will benefit the local club’s programs, which focus on children.

PORT TOWNSEND — The Port Townsend Kiwanis Club will host its 27th annual Classic Car Show at Memorial Field on Saturday.

Gates will open to the public at 9 a.m.

Tickets are $5 for adults and $2 for children 12 and younger. Veterans are admitted free.

Funds from the show will benefit the local club’s programs, which focus on children.

Registration open

Owners of cars from 1980 and older can preregister now for $15 or register the day of for $20.

Categories

The show offers both stock and modified categories of cars and trucks, which are separated into decades for exhibitors’ judging purposes, who will also vote for Best of Show.

The public votes for their favorites in the People’s Choice areas of Work in Progress, Specialty/Novelty, Motorcycle, Paint Job, Convertible, Friendliest Owner and Overall People’s Choice.

Awards given

The awards will be handed out at 3 p.m. that day, with the Rhododendron Festival royalty assisting with the awards presentation.
