Kids Fishing Day set for Saturday

SEQUIM — Local anglers look to make another splash with local youth at the 2022 Kids Fishing Day from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Saturday.

The free event will be at the reclamation pond north of Carrie Blake Community Park, 350 N. Blake Ave. Donations will be appreciated.

Members of the host organization Puget Sound Anglers-North Olympic Peninsula Chapter will provide fishing rods for checkout, bait and expert volunteers to assist the youths in cleaning and icing the fish.

Club members are giving away fishing rod setups to the first 50 youths reporting to the rod checkout canopy (parents/guardians should be present to sign for rods). Participants 14 and younger can keep the first two fish caught.

After the event, youngsters can fish daily with the same two-first-fish-caught limit.
