IF EVER THERE were a weekend to find your favorite genre of live music, this is that weekend.

Port Angeles
■ Today at Castaways Restaurant and Night Club, 1213 Marine Drive, join Jerry’s Country Jam from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m.
On Friday, dance to the Night Beats and the hits of the 1950s through ’70s at 9 p.m.
On Saturday, dance to the Badd Dog Blues Society from 9 p.m. to 1 a.m. Cover.
■ The Deadwood Experiment at the Junction Roadhouse, 242701 W. U.S. Highway 101, scheduled for today, has been canceled but will return next Thursday.
On Friday, bluesman Hambone Wilson with special guest Evan John plays rocking/dancing blues from 9 p.m. to 1 a.m.

On Tuesday, Ches Ferguson plays several instruments at 7 p.m.

■ On Friday at Wine on the Waterfront, 115 Railroad Ave., R and B (Rachael and Barry) play Motown and classic rock starting at 8 p.m.
■ Mydlyfe, Crysys, Fluffy and Diimmel returns to the Coo Coo Nest, 1017 E. First St., on Friday at 10 p.m. for a free show with Distinction and The Ungreatful Living.
■ On Friday, Les Wamboldt and Olde Tyme Country play with guest Bill Camuso of the Old Sidekicks on fiddle and mandolin at the Fairmount Restaurant, 1127 W. U.S. Highway 101, from 6 p.m. to 8:30 p.m.
On Sunday, join the country jam from 5 p.m. to 7:30 p.m.
On Tuesday, Dave and Rosalie Secord and the Luck of the Draw Band play with guest yodeler Wanda Bumgarner from 6 p.m. 8 p.m.

■ Every Tuesday evening at the Port Angeles Senior Center, Seventh and Peabody streets, the Port Angeles Senior Swingers present Wally and the Boys playing ballroom dance favorites from 7:30 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. $5 cover; first-timers free.

On Friday, Jim Nyby and the F Street Band bring their brand of New Orleans-style rock, blues and roots at 8 p.m. $6 cover.
Hot Rod’s Blues Revue, 2010 Best New Band and 2011 Best Band nominee by the Washington Blues Society, plays for your pleasure Saturday at 8 p.m. $12 advance tickets available.
On Sunday, Rex Rice’s Penultimate Sunday Jazz Jam takes the stage from 6 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. $5 cover.
The Monday night live open mic is back at 5 p.m.
On Tuesday, everything is jazzy with the inaugural Centrum Port Townsend Jazz Fest Jazz Jam at the clubat 7 p.m.

Local concerts
■ Today, Tim Halpin and the Better Half open up the Port Townsend Main Street Concerts on the Dock, Pope Marine Park, from 5:30 p.m. to 8 p.m., with seating starting at 5 p.m.
■ Wednesday’s Concert on the Pier in Port Angeles features Locust Street Taxi with horns, harmony and humor from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m.
Community concerts are outside and subject to weather conditions, so be prepared.
Farmers market
■ On Saturday at the Port Angeles Farmers Market, The Gateway center, the Winterlings perform from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m.
High notes
■ On Saturday at Olympic Cellars Winery, 255410 U.S. Highway 101 east of Port Angeles in the big barn, the final appearance of Abby Mae & the Homeschool Boys at 7 p.m. makes it a very special night in support of the Olympic Peninsula Rowing Association Health and Wellness Program.
■ On Saturday, the Linger Longer Outdoor Performance Theater presents a Quilbilly Country and Western Concert at 3 p.m. on the grounds of Worthington Park, Quilcene.
CMT (Country Music Television) City Music Madness winner Chance McKinney and singer-songwriter Kellee Bradley showcase their talents. $20 adults; $10 students; younger than 12 free. The usual outdoor caveats apply: chairs, blankets, etc.
■ On Sunday, the Key City Cabaret Concert Series in Port Townsend presents singer-songwriter Simon Lynge, who has been playing to critical acclaim in Europe as well as opening shows for Emmylou Harris. The 8 p.m. show at the Key City Public Theatre playhouse, 419 Washington St., is a co-production of Toolshed Trio and Key City Public Theatre.
