PORT TOWNSEND — Gary Wessen will present “Examining Cultural Behavior Represented by Marine Shellfish Remains at the Ozette Site” at 7 p.m. Wednesday.
The lecture, hosted by the Jefferson County Historical Society, will stream on Zoom.
Wessen will describe an assemblage of marine shellfish remains recovered from the Ozette archaeological site and discuss the range and detail of the information that they provide about cultural behavior.
Wessen has a PhD in anthropology from Washington State University in Pullman and has more than 50 years of fieldwork in North America.
