Jefferson County seeks volunteers for its parks board

PORT TOWNSEND — Jefferson County is seeking two volunteers for its Parks and Recreation Advisory Board.

The seats represent county commissioner districts 1 and 2.

The commission typically meets for 90 minutes on the first Wednesday of even-numbered months; meeting times, currently 11 a.m. to 1 p.m., are being reconsidered at this time.

Board members assist the Department of Community Development with

development of programs and policies; review of proposed rules, policies, or ordinances; and development, revision, and amendment of the county’s Parks, Open Space and Recreation Plan
