PORT TOWNSEND — The Jefferson County Historical Society will resume its First Friday Speaker series with “Baking and Candy Making with Sugar Hill Farms” at 7 p.m. Friday.
The series will begin on Zoom but, according to a press release, the society hopes to be able to transition back to in-person lectures before the year’s last speaker Nov. 5.
Brenda Hill from Sugar Hill Farms will share her recipe for hot chocolate bombs and tips and tricks for pie crusts.
The theme for the series is “The Art of Making” and includes: “Fermentation with Midori Farms,” March 5; “Jewelry Making with Azure,” April 2; “Metalwork with The Port Townsend Foundry,” May 7; “Cider with Alpenfire Cidery,” June 4; “Woodworking with the Port Townsend School of Woodworking and Kim Winkle,” July 2; “Ceramics with LaughinGnome Pottery,” Aug. 6; “Coast Salish Wool Weaving with Susan Pavel,” Sept. 3; “Placemaking with Mackenzie Grinnell,” Oct. 1; and “Canvas Clothing with Best Coast Canvas,” Nov. 5.
The suggested donation for an individual program is $10.
A series pass to all 10 lectures is available for $75 and $65 for society members.
