SEQUIM — About the only thing local stage managers say they can prepare for with this group is a popular draw.
Olympic Theatre Arts Center officials said they saw overflowing crowds the last time Imagined Reality performed its original improv comedy show in Sequim back in November.
That traveling troupe is back for a show set for 7 p.m. Saturday at the theater at 414 N. Sequim Ave.
Imagined Reality’s late 2020 performance drew such a large audience that an impromptu venue change was necessary, bringing the show from the cabaret setting in OTA’s newly renovated Gathering Hall into the main auditorium. There, the improv group performed on the main stage, spontaneously using the theatre’s partially completed “Christmas Carol” set to their comedic advantage.
“The community came starving for a laugh,” said OTA executive director David Herbelin, “and Imagined Reality delivered them a giant platter.”
While all ages are welcome, OTA representatives note that show content is typically rated around PG-13.
Tickets are $10 and are available at the theater box office from 1 p.m.- 4 p.m., Tuesday through Friday, or online at www.olympictheatrearts.org.
So the theater can provide its patrons with a safe environment, OTA’s board of trustees has recently adopted a COVID policy requiring production members, volunteers and patrons to show proof of vaccination or a negative COVID test (within 72 hours) plus a matching photo ID before being allowed in the theatre.
