Harvest of Hope tickets on sale now

Foundation will match dollars raised up to $200K

SEQUIM — Tickets are on sale now for Olympic Medical Center Foundation’s annual Harvest of Hope Wine & Dinner Gala.

The foundation will host, in conjunction with Fred Hutchinson Cancer Care Alliance and Sound Community Bank, the event both virtually and in person at 5:30 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 1, at the Guy Cole Event Center, 144 N. Blake Ave.

Tickets are $135 per person.

The 20th annual gala will once again raise funds for local cancer patients being treated at Olympic Medical Cancer Center in Sequim.

The OMC foundation hopes to raise $150,000 to purchase equipment that “will keep the center as a world-class treatment center,” event organizers said.

Olympic Medical Center Foundation has donated more than $2.5 million to OMC in the past five years.

To help fundraising efforts, the Elizabeth B. McGraw Foundation — headed by Lee McGraw, formerly of Sequim — will match every dollar raised up to $200,000.

In addition, the foundation recently contributed $400,000 toward the purchase of a state-of-the-art computed tomography (CT) scan for Olympic Medical Center that will provide for better imaging for the treatment of cancer, heart disease and other diseases.

At the Oct. 1 Harvest of Hope event, the Sunland Ladies Club will be presented with the Rick Kaps Award that annually recognizes organizations and individuals who have supported the cancer center.

Club members have conducted the grassroots fundraiser — the Sunland Drive for the Cure Charity Golf Tournament — for 12 years, with all proceeds annually going toward cancer care.

The club has raised more than $100,000, and in recent years has benefited patients who can’t afford screenings for breast cancer.

Attendees will have an opportunity to help raise funds through the purchase of raffle tickets or live and silent auction items.

Sample live auction items include a week-long trip to Ireland, which includes stays at historic hotels (including a castle); a week-long stay in Phoenix, including airfare; a variety of “instant” wine cellars; brewing lessons and dinner at the Barhop Brewery in Port Angeles, and a trip to Cabo San Lucas, including lodging and airfare.

Tickets are available at omcf.org, or by calling 360-417-7144.
