Winston McFarlane

Guitarist to complete Music Live with Lunch’s season

SEQUIM — St. Luke’s Episcopal Church’s final concert of the season for Music Live with Lunch will feature Atlanta native Winston McFarlane at noon Tuesday.

Tickets cost $12 and are available at the door or church office, 525 N. Fifth Ave., from 9 a.m. to noon Mondays through Thursdays.

McFarlane will play several selections on guitar by romantic Spanish composer Francisco Tarrega including “Lágrima” and “Tango.”

Winston created Vision Music, an in-home music lesson service in Atlanta, which he now operates in Seattle, too.

After college, McFarlane worked for Coca-Cola in marketing, but he couldn’t deny his passion for music, he said.

So he left marketing to complete lessons at the Atlanta Institute of Music, where he studied blues, rock, jazz, composition and classical.

McFarlane lives in Seattle with his wife and two daughters and continues to teach and play guitar.

Music Live with Lunch was started more than 25 years ago by Lou and Bill Yandell as a musical outreach program to the community, with proceeds benefiting local and regional concerns.

Concerts begin at noon on the third Tuesday of the month from September through May in the sanctuary with lunch at 12:30 p.m. in the parish hall.
