THE PORT TOWNSEND Film Festival’s annual “Guess the Guest” contest — in which the public guesses the celebrity guest at the upcoming festival — returns today after a short hiatus.
The reason? The originally scheduled guest pulled out of the Sept. 26-28 festival because of a television production.
There’s a new celebrity guest, says festival artistic director Peter Simpson, so a new series of clues begins today.
Clue No. 1:
“Noted for a notorious drag role.”
Simpson said only two clues will be offered in the revitalized contest.
The second will be issued Aug. 13, with the winner announced Aug. 20 — when the guest celebrity’s identity also will be revealed.
“The new schedule makes for a late announcement of our guest,” Simpson said, “but the contest adds a bit of suspense, so it’s worth the wait.”
Those who had correctly guessed the identity of the original special guest will be added to the pool of winning entries from which a winner will be drawn.
The winner receives tickets for two to the special guest’s featured screening and an invitation for two to attend a reception in the guest’s honor.
To enter, send the name of the guest star, along with your name and daytime telephone number, to info@ptfilmfest.com, subject: Guess the Guest.
Or write the information on an 8-by-11-inch sheet of paper and mail to PTFF Contest, P.O. Box 594, Port Townsend, WA 98368, with “Guess the Guest” written on the envelope.
Entries also can be taken to 211 Taylor St., Suite 33 (third floor, Mount Baker Block Building) in downtown Port Townsend.
