PORT ANGELES — It might be Monday, but the Juan de Fuca Festival of the Arts is far from over, says executive director Anna Manildi.
“It doesn’t end because Sunday is over with,” she said.
“There’s lots of great stuff to come.”
Manildi said some of the performers planned for today include multi-instrumentalist Harry Manx, blues and bluegrass performers Laura Love Band, bluegrass performers Acoustic News, and the Port Angeles teen band The Lonely H.
The 12th annual Memorial Day weekend festival continues through today on six stages throughout the city. In addition, the street fair continues on Fourth Street.
Although exact figures won’t be available until after the festival closes and all ticket sales are tabulated, Manildi said attendance was as strong as ever this year.
“The festival’s popularity and the great weather are bringing record numbers,” she said.
“It never has been this sunny. This is the first year I haven’t been worried about the weather — the rain was always looming,” Manildi said, noting that an overcast Sunday morning gave way to sunshine in the afternoon.
All-day tickets for all venues are $10 for Juan de Fuca Festival of the Arts members, students and seniors, and $12 for general admission. Children age 12 and younger get in free.
The main ticket booth is outside the Vern Burton Center near the corner of Fourth and Peabody streets.
Free copies of the festival magazine, produced by the Peninsula Daily News, the main festival sponsor, are available at the ticket booth. The magazine includes today’s schedule of concerts and other events.
