Good balance topic of free forum in Sequim

The best way to prevent falls is to move as often as possible and as productively as possible in the best possible core alignment, the presenter says.

SEQUIM — Preventing falls will be the topic of the Nov. 9 WOW! Working on Wellness forum.

Barb Paschal will present a free talk, “Dynamic Balance Ideas,” at 2:30 p.m. at Trinity United Methodist Church, 100 S. Blake Ave. in Sequim.

The best way to prevent falls is to move as often as possible and as productively as possible in the best possible core alignment, said Paschal, who worked as a physical therapist in all aspects of that profession for 33 years.

Since retiring, she has spent 14 years as a community educator focused on increasing knowledge about exercise, better balance and healthier joints, as well as immune system and memory improvement.

WOW! Working on Wellness is a health education program of the Dungeness Valley Health &Wellness Clinic, Sequim’s free clinic. The clinic provides basic urgent care and chronic health care services to uninsured community members.

The clinic is supported by more than 70 volunteers, including physicians, other professional health care providers and laypersons, as well as private and public donations.

The Basic Urgent Care Clinic is open to patients Monday and Thursday evenings beginning at 5.

Those interested in supporting the clinic can call 360-582-0218.
