Free Saturday matinees screened at Sequim Library

SEQUIM — Break out the popcorn — it’s family movie night.

The Sequim Library at 630 N. Sequim Ave. will revive its Family Flicks movie series at 2 p.m. Saturday when it screens “The Adventures of Tintin.”

Directed by Steven Spielberg, this PG-rated film was released in 2011 and is based on “Herge’s Crab with the Golden Claws,” “Secret of the Unicorn” and “Red Rackham’s Treasure.”

“The Adventures of Tintin” was the first non-Pixar film to win a Golden Globe for best animated feature film.

The series offers family-friendly entertainment on the first Saturday of every month, October through April.

The films, popcorn and movie trivia are free.

On Nov. 4, the library will show “Finding Dory,” a PG-rated sequel to “Finding Nemo,” released in 2016.

On Dec. 2, the film will be “The BFG,” a PG-rated film directed and produced by Steven Spielberg and based on the book by Roald Dahl.

For a complete Family Flicks schedule or more information about other upcoming family programs, visit www.nols.org, call the library at 360-683-1161 or email youth@nols.org.

The program is supported by the Friends of Sequim Library.
