First Friday Art Walk in lavender hues

SEQUIM — The color theme for this month’s First Friday Art Walk is purple — the color of Sequim’s famous lavender blooms, which will be featured during the Sequim Lavender Weekend on July 21-23.

The art walk from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. First Friday Art Walk Sequim is a free, self-guided tour of local art venues in Sequim the first Friday of every month. Visit SequimArtWalk.com to download and print a map and find special events and links.

Purple represents thoughtfulness, dignity, potential, camaraderie, supportive spiritual significance and impressive extravagance, according to art walk organizer Renne Emiko Brock, who encourages visitors to dress in shades of purple as they go out on the town.
