SEQUIM — Back for its 14th year, the North Olympic Fiber Arts Festival once again will bring an interactive fiber arts event to Sequim, with the exhibit opening Tuesday.
The festival will include such activities as a museum exhibition, workshops, educational demonstrations of fiber processes, hands-on projects for children and adults, a fiber arts market of local artists’ work and fiber supplies and information about local fiber activities groups, businesses and instructional resources.
The festival’s exhibition — dubbed “Irresistible Aesthetics — Beauty, Absorption, & Ideology” is set for Tuesday through Nov. 30 at Sequim Museum & Arts, 544 N. Sequim Ave.
The opening reception will be during the First Friday Art Walk from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. this coming Friday.
Demonstrations and a fiber arts market will follow the next day.
This coming Saturday will be the Fiber Arts Extravaganza Demonstrations and Fiber Arts Market from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. at Sequim Museum & Arts.
It will offer items from fleece to finished products including apparel, household goods and supplies to fiber works; information from creators Renne Emiko Brock, Lisa Gilbert, North Olympic Shuttle and Spindle Guild, Kathy Martin, Jan Tatom, Twisted Strait Fibers, Jean Wyatt and demonstrations by Strait Knitters, exhibiting artists, North Olympic Shuttle and Spindle Guild.
The Meet the Makers Reception will start at noon.
Next Sunday, Oct. 6, the fiber arts exhibition will be open from noon to 3 p.m. at the Sequim Museum & Arts.
Sequim Fiber Arts Fiber Arts Market and Exhibition is also planned from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. Nov. 1, during November First Friday Art Walk at the Sequim Museum & Arts.
On Nov. 30 will be the Fiber Arts Market Small Business Saturday from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the museum.
“Irresistible Aesthetics – Beauty, Absorption, & Ideology” is a juried fiber arts exhibition.
