Feiro first stop for Storytime on the Road

PORT ANGELES — As part of the North Olympic Library System’s annual Summer Reading Program, the library is hitting the road during the month of July for a special roving storytime series.

The first will be at 10:30 a.m. Thursday at the Feiro Marine Life Center at 315 N. Lincoln St.

Different locations

Storytimes will be offered at a different location in Port Angeles at 10:30 a.m. every Thursday in July.

Other locations include the Olympic National Park Visitor Center, Webster’s Woods Art Park by the fine arts center and the Port Angeles Fire Department.

Storytimes are geared to toddlers and preschoolers and the adults in their lives.

The Storytime on the Road series aims to promote literacy and spread the love of reading beyond the walls of the library.

Beyond library

“Reading readiness and richness cannot be confined by bricks and mortar,” library director Margaret Jakubcin said.

“The Storytime on the Road series brings library programs to the people, where they happen to be in our community.”

The theme for the 2017 Summer Reading Program is “Build a Better World.”

It will run through Aug. 19 in Clallam County public libraries.
