PORT HADLOCK — Equestrian author and trail rider Kim McCarrel will talk about her latest book, “Riding Southwest Washington Horse Trails,” at the Jefferson County Library at 6:30 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 18.

She will discuss trail options available to equestrians across Oregon and southwest Washington in the free presentation at the library at 620 Cedar Ave.

Seating is limited, so visitors are urged to arrive early.

McCarrel began writing horse trail guidebooks in 2001 and has since explored, mapped and published written descriptions of trails and horse camps throughout Oregon and southwest Washington.

She focuses on the trails between the coast and the crest of the Cascades, and from Olympia to the Oregon border.

She lives in Bend, Ore., with her husband, Steve, two Portuguese water dogs, and her two Tennessee walker mares, Jane and Tex.

The presentation is co-sponsored by the Buckhorn Range Chapter of the Back Country Horsemen of Washington.
