Rotary to meet

PORT HADLOCK — T.J. and Rian Plastow will present “Walking the Camino de Santiago in Spain” from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. Thursday.

The Plastows will address a meeting of the Rotary Club of East Jefferson County at the Old Alcohol Plant, 310 Hadlock Bay Road.

Plastow and her daughter will talk about their 44-day trip walking the 520-mile trail. An optional, cafeteria-style lunch will be available for $15.

PORT HADLOCK — A discussion of “A Gentleman in Moscow” by Amor Towles is planned from 6:15 p.m. to 7:45 p.m. Thursday.

Jet Set to meet

PORT ANGELES — Leo Ackers will talk about human trafficking at a meeting of the Soroptimist Port Angeles Jet Set at 7 a.m. Thursday. The Jet Set meets weekly at the Port Angeles Senior & Community Center, 328 E. Seventh St.

Ackers, an agent with the Department of Homeland Security, will discuss the National Human Trafficking Hotline, as well as what is happening nationally and in Washington state to stop trafficking in people.

Kiwanis to meet

PORT ANGELES — Mark Nichols will address a meeting of the Kiwanis Club of Port Angeles at noon Thursday. The club meets weekly at Joshua’s Restaurant, 113 Del Guzzi Drive.

Nichols, the county prosecutor, will discuss the prosecution of crime in the county.

The public is invited to attend the free meeting. Food and beverages will be available for purchase.

Native plant workshop

PORT ANGELES — Joe Holtrop will present “Planting and Maintaining a Native Landscape” from 3:30 p.m. to 5 p.m. Thursday.

The free workshop, sponsored by the Clallam County Conservation District, will be at the Port Angeles Library, 2210 S. Peabody St.

Holtrop, executive director of the Clallam County Conservation District, will discuss species selection, planting and maintenance, and help participants choose plants from the district’s annual plant sale that are the best fit for their land.

FORKS

Bingo night

FORKS — West End Sportsmen will host bingo night at 7 p.m. Thursday.

The fundraiser will be at the club at 243 Sportsmen’s Club Road. Proceeds will benefit hunter education program and the annual Kids’ Fishing Day.
