PORT ANGELES — VideOlympics, a film contest promoting outdoor activities on the Olympic Peninsula, will accept submissions through Sunday.
Hosted by the Hurricane Ridge Winter Sports Club, the contest awards more than $1,000 in prizes.
All submissions must be in digital format — a downloadable HD (720p minimum) .mov or .mp4 file delivered via youtube, vimeo or dropbox to videOlympics@hurricane ridge.com.
Submissions are judged by viewers live at the film festival set for May 18 at Studio Bob, 118 E. Front St., Port Angeles.
Viewers will be asked to take into consideration technical merit, local interest and stoke factor [“how much it makes you want to get off the couch and get outdoors on the Olympic Peninsula,” festival organizers said].
“One of the great things about the Olympic Peninsula is the wide range of outdoor activities available within a relatively small area,” said Greg Halberg, Hurricane Ridge Winter Sports Club member.
“We want submissions from a wide variety of sports. There is also no restriction on when the movie was made, so if you have an oldie but goodie we would like to see that also.”
The event is sponsored by North by Northwest, LibTech, the Hurricane Ridge Winter Sports Club and Studio Bob.
