NORDLAND — Michael Zimmerman and Harry Louch will Present “Clamming at Fort Flagler” at 10 a.m. Wednesday.
Attendees should meet in the lower campground in front of the Beachcomber Cafe, 1321 Flagler Campground Road.
Zimmerman and Louch, former state park rangers, will discuss how to identify local shellfish, how to read a tide table, common harvesting tools and how to use them.
Attendees should bring a #2 long-handled shovel, tined garden scraper, gloves and a medium-sized bucket; buckets may not be shared, each digger is required to have their own container.
Participants must hold a state fishing license, except for Washington residents younger than 16 or older than 69.
The free class is sponsored by the Friends of Fort Flagler.
