Clallam County Conservation District taking orders for native plants

PORT ANGELES — The Clallam Conservation District is accepting large-quantity orders for its annual native plant sale until Monday, Nov. 1.

Plants will be availablethe first week of March.

The district conducts the sale annually, aiming to provide affordable native species for wildlife habitat enhancement and environmentally friendly landscaping.

Bare-root tree and shrub seedlings are available in bundles of 100 per species and range in price from $74 to $120 per bundle.

Conifer trees for sale include Douglas fir, grand fir, shore pine, Sitka spruce, western hemlock and western red cedar.

Deciduous trees include big leaf maple, Pacific crab apple, red alder, Rocky Mountain maple and vine maple.

Deciduous shrubs available are the blue elderberry, Indian plum, mock orange, Nootka rose, oceanspray, low Oregon grape, Pacific ninebark, red elderberry, red flowering currant, red osier dogwood, serviceberry, snowberry, thimbleberry and twinberry.

Orders can also be placed online at clallamcd.org/native-plants, or the order form can be printed and mailed.
