Clallam Conservation District to host webinars on pasture, hayland

PORT ANGELES — The Clallam Conservation District will host two webinars for pasture and hayland owners in April.

Planners from the district will present “Pasture and Hayland Management 101: Reduce Weeds, Grow Feed” at 3:30 p.m. Monday.

Participants will learn how to increase the health and productivity of pastures and hayland in order control and prevent weeds.

Cathy Lucero, from Clallam County Noxious Weed Control, will present “Control of the Top 12 Pasture and Hayland Weeds in Clallam County” at 3:30 p.m. April 19.

Lucero will discuss ways to control, manage for and, in some situations, eradicate these challenging weeds. Lucero’s to 12 weeds include buttercup, oxeye daisy, tansy ragwort, Canada and bull thistles, stinging nettle, poison hemlock, bracken fern, horsetail, hairy nightshade, parentucellia, Himalayan blackberry and reed canary grass.
