Clallam Bay-Sekiu art show winners named

CLALLAM BAY — The Clallam Bay Sekiu Chamber of Commerce has announced the winners of the art show held during the 2022 Clallam Bay-Sekiu Fun Days.

Best in Show artwork is “The Spirit of Cape Flattery” by K.C. Winter.

Best in show for crafts is Janiel McClain Post’s quilt, “Let’s Yo Yo Around.”

Best in Show for youth art is “Cat” by Peyton Winter.

Other winners include:

• Art: First place, Lora Malakoff, “The Sun and The Moon”, second place, a tie, Sue Heiny “Aunt Caroline’s House” and Lora Malakoff, “IF I could Fly,” third place, tie, Martha Ellul, “Misty Mountains” and Sue Heiny “Elana Godiva.”

• Crafts: First place, Mary K. Michelena, for her quilt “Night Sky”, Second Place, a tie, K.C. Winter for her painted rocks “Gnome Home” and Tony Gutierrez for his gourd art, “Deer Antler Gourd,” Third place, Paul Blake for his clay/porcelain sculpture, “The Great Wave.”

• Youth Art: First place, Calliope E. Foster, “Kitty, Bunny, Field,” Second, Calliope E.Foster, “Rainbow Bridge.”

The Mark Bowlby Award was presented to Flora Finley for “Grandpa and Grandma.”

K.C. Winter won the Memorial Award for “Clallam River.”

The show awards and ribbons were determined by People’s Choice votes.
