Center Valley auction, celebration set Saturday

Event held virtually this year

QUILCENE — Tickets are still available for Center Valley Animal Rescue’s virtual auction and celebration set for 5:30 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 3.

During the celebration, the Quilcene rescue center will tell stories of the 2020 rescue year, highlight rescued animals in their forever homes, hear from Sara Penhallegon, Center Valley Animal Rescue (CVAR) director and founder, see behind-the-scenes footage and other videos, said organizer Dinah DiNova.

The virtual auction, which began Sept. 27, culminates Saturday. Some of the auction items include a private plane ride over the San Juan Islands, attending a CVAR wildlife release and a private photo shoot at CVAR.

The $10 ticket tier includes an entry into the For the Love of Animals raffle basket. The $45 ticket tier includes a special edition For the Love of Animals T-shirt, a grab bag of pet treats and a chance to win the raffle basket.

The $75 ticket tier also includes a prepackaged vegetarian dinner catered by Crescent Moon Catering. The fresh meal will be available for pickup at locations in Port Townsend, Chimacum and Quilcene on Saturday.

All proceeds from the tickets and auction go toward CVAR’s services. An anonymous donor has agreed to match all donations up to $40,000, Penhallegon said.

Tickets for the event can be purchased — and the auction found — at fortheloveofanimals.maxgiving.bid.
