Canine Couture show raises funds

PORT ANGELES — Pierre and Cruella de Vil recently emceed the Community Paw-Ty Olympic Peninsula Canine Couture Runway Show.

The show, conducted at St. Matthew Lutheran Church, showcased the creativity and talents of local dog owners to raise funds for, and awareness of, the church’s preschool.

All of the outfits were designed by their owners.

Breeds on the runway ranged from a Shih-Tzu, dressed as the Runaway Bride, to a Newfoundland, dressed as a Panda.

Other pets in the show included a pair of Pomeranians dressed in Ragtime-inspired dresses, and Nesa, an upland bird hunting dog, who recently won top honors in the field trial championship in Denton, Mont.

Proceeds from the show will help fund educational programs and resources.

The evening’s emcees added to the glamour and excitement of the event with their elaborate outfits, befitting the grandeur of the occasion.
