Book written by former Port Angeles man published

PORT ANGELES — Former Port Angeles resident Kevin German, 37, recently had his book “Color Me Gone” published and it will be available for pre-sale on Kickstarter until Thursday, June 15.

The book — a circular narrative — focuses on a developing Vietnam, which German photographically documented for 10 years while he lived in the country.

German’s book can be accessed by visiting www.kickstarter.com and is available in differing formats and packages, depending on the amount of money pledged to the kickstarter.

With editor/designer Teun van der Heijden, they worked to create “a different perspective about Vietnam with a simple message: Forget what you remember and remember what you forgot,” according to the photobook’s webpage.

German is a 1998 Port Angeles High School graduate, and served as a part-time photography intern at the Peninsula Daily News during 1998 and 1999.

He has interned at the Eugene Register Guard, Seattle Times and St. Petersberg Times in Florida.

His sister resides in Sequim, according to a news release.

A book trailer can be veiwed by visiting www.vimeo.com.
