Berry growth lecture planned for Saturday

SEQUIM — Jeanette Stehr-Green will present “Growing Raspberries and Blackberries in the Home Garden” at 10:30 a.m. Saturday.

The lecture is part of the Clallam County master gardeners Digging Deeper at the Woodcock Demonstration Garden, 2711 Woodcock Road.

Stehr-Green will discuss the basics of growing raspberries and blackberries, two types of caneberry.

She will discuss the life-cycle of the caneberry, types of caneberries, planting sites and the care and maintenance of caneberries.

All attendees are asked to wear masks and maintain physical distances, regardless of COVID-19 vaccination status.

Additionally, master gardeners will be in the demonstration garden from 9:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. to answer gardening questions on any topic.
